Big Girl Bed

If you can't understand, Emma says "One second, k". She is a funny little thing.

So, I have kind of been toying with the idea of potty training Emma. When I was getting tips and suggestions from people, one of my co-workers asked if Emma was in a toddler bed yet. I told her that she was still in a crib and we loved it because she couldn't/wouldn't get out. Anyways, so that night, I told Chaz that maybe we should convert her bed and make the potty/bed thing into a huge "BIG GIRL" thing. So, on a Wednesday night, we converted her bed. In the process, I kind of hit Chaz in the head with a two by fourish piece of wood that was on the front of Emma's bed, opps.

She absolutely loves it. She thought it was the most exciting thing ever. She kept screaming "look" over and over again. So, the first night, I kept waking up thinking that she was going to be standing at the edge of the bed, but she wasn't. In fact, she will not get out of her bed unless we open her door in the morning, or go in and get her. Hooray!!! Now, how is nap time going to go... Well, that next Saturday, she did great. She slept really well and then when she woke up she started to cry until I went in and got her out. We converted her bed two weeks ago, and she still won't get out on her own. I wonder how long this will last?

I think it's hilarious that she won't get out of her bed. Good for you guys--at least for now, right? ;) What a funny little duck Emma is. Love that girl!

I have heard that kids don't get that they can get out all by themselves until you start telling them "Don't get up". then they figure it out. She looks so excited to have a new "big girl" bed! It's so fun watching their excited faces. Being a mom is the best!
