2011 Goals

I am still in a state of shock that 2010 is over, and we are in 2011 already. I feel like the years are going by quicker and quicker now that Emma is around. What happened to my baby? Is this why people have babies so close together; because time flies and then the baby isn't a baby anymore? Speaking of babies, Chaz and I currently do not, I repeat, do not have any plans to have a baby in 2011 or 2012. At this point, I am so in love with Emma, I can't imagine having to share that love with another child. I know that people are able to, but I am not there yet. I am extremely attached to Emma and the bond that we share; she is like my little girl friend.

Anyways, I am not actually going to try to change who I am in 2011, but simply try to accomplish things in 2011. I am really happy with my lifestyle, I eat good most of the time, I work out consistently, I cook and clean (well my maid does) regularly. Here is what I would like to do in 2011.
  1. Read 12 books. This is 1 book a month which shouldn't be too hard. In 2010, I started 3 books and finished 2 books. I am still in the process of finishing the 3rd book I started, "The Historian" (page 795/816), but I am pretty sure I will finish this week.
  2. Completely finish making a full size quilt. My sister (Tricia/Trish) and I are starting a quilting project. We are both making a separate quilt. Last Saturday we went to the fabric store and bought fabric. Last night I ironed all of the fabric to prepare for cutting it this week. This is the pattern that Tricia decided to use, and I have decided to use the same pattern (thief). I bought the pattern on etsy at www.etsy.com/shop/knitknat. Tricia is going to use pink fabric, and I am planning on using an assortment of blue fabrics. I will periodically update you with my progress.

  3. Run at least 3 races in 2011. I am currently training to run a 10K in March 26th. I will post my training later in a separate post. I really enjoy running, and I would like to keep myself going by entering races. I am not hell bent on winning at all, I just want to say that I was able to run a 10K, or whatever race, without stopping. I am also entered to race in a Warrior Run/Mud Run on April 17th. Chaz has picked up running as well, so we will be doing both of these races together.
  4. Start our family and Emma's scrapbooks. After Emma was born, I got the family scrapbook up to the point that she was born. In 2010, I really wanted to start them up again, but life always seemed to get in the way. I don't have a specific goal as to how much I would like to accomplish this year, but I would like to start working on them again regularly.
  5. Blog more consistently. I am beginning to get to the point that I am doing this more frequently, but I would like to continue to be consistent with it. I am also going to start blogging more about our entire family instead of just Emma. I like to know the whole families story, so other's should have our whole story too. Hopefully I will gain a few more readers; I think I have an average of 3 right now.

As of right now, I can't really think of anything else that I would really like to do. I am sure that this will take up most of my time, so it is a good start. I am hoping that having this in writing will hold me accountable, but we shall see. I don't want to feel like a total loser for saying that I am going to do all of this stuff and not follow through.

***This is the longest no, well one, picture post that I have ever posted. I will make sure that they aren't all this boring.***

Maid?! Girl, that Rocks! I wish! This post wasnt' boring at all! It is fun getting to know you more through blogging. These all sounds like great goals. Mine are a lot similar. 15 books for me, and I would like to run just 1 race. A 5K. Good luck. You should post some of your thoughts on the books that you read.

Even though this post was really long I LOVED it and hope that you'll do posts like this in the future. I absolutely adore all the posts about Emma and don't want those to go away, but I enjoy hearing from YOU, too. Ok, mom moment over (and yes, this really is Trish).

Your goals are great ones and I'm still a little irked that this year everyone decides to run races while I can't. But next year I'll join you guys--I SO want to do that Warrior Run.

And I'm glad you're doing the quilt with me. :) Even if you are a freak perfectionist who takes a million years to sew just three damn strips together.

The end. I love you. Because I'm cheesy like that.

Behind on your scrapbooks already? be careful.... or you'll end up like me!

Great goals... you're awesome, and you inspire me (except with only reading 2 books last year -- does that include children's books?).

Love you -- mom

Mom - No, the two books that I read doesn't include the children's books that I read Emma, but thanks for the faith!

I love wordy posts, I feel like bloggers open up more when they have more to write. This was definitely not boring!
I love how blunt and honest you are (regarding potential pregnancy.) So refreshing!
I was thinking I should set a goal to read a book a month. I probably am about the same as you in regards to how many books you read last year. I struggled. Your mom's comment about Emma's books made me laugh out loud. :)
I'm glad you've been blogging more. Even though lately I haven't been a good reader for a lot of blogs, I really am happy you are blogging more frequently so I can check in on you. :) I also appreciate your comments on my blog, so thanks so much!
I think it's a great idea you're going to blog about your whole family vs just Emma. Obviously we'd never get tired of reading about or seeing that cute little face, but we want to know about you and Chaz too!
